Amira Kay
Registered Clinical Psychotherapist and Counsellor
I have worked as a psychotherapist and counsellor in private practice since 2002. I am passionate about sharing my broad toolkit of resources to allow my clients to live their highest potential.
My career began with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and over the next decade I built a successful jewellery factory. Subsequently, I worked as a senior producer for a well-known media broadcaster. Despite the professional success, life guided me to a career change into psychotherapy and addiction counselling. This began the process of connecting mind with heart. Since then, I have continued working to help others overcome their personal struggles.
In addition to private practice, I’ve worked at Lifeline, in the prison system and specialised in addiction counselling. Since 2005, I have worked at Turning Point Drug and Alcohol Services. In addition to my clinical work, I have taught as a senior trainer of drug education programs at Uniting Care Regen, as well as teaching counselling and facilitating professional development programs in various institutions. In line with my interest in health and nutrition, I have worked as a health coach for Diabetes Victoria since 2014.
